In Loving Memory of Lydia T. Tafoya

Our dearest mother Lydia T. Tafoya went to be with the Lord on November 24, 2020. A long-time resident of Raton, she was brought into this world on August 25,1954 by her wonderful parents Joe and Mercedas Pacheco and was taken at the age of 66. Her death was caused by underlying health issues.

Lydia was always helping where she could and was known around Raton for her delicious food. She volunteered for 9 years as a Senior Companion providing company and assisting with errands for local senior citizens and she volunteered for Relay for Life for 10 years.

She has a surviving spouse John Tafoya of Raton N.M.   Surviving children Domingo Cordova and spouse Gina Cordova, Loretta Dipert, Henrietta Kuhlman and spouse Shannon Kuhlman, James Tafoya and spouse Kathy Tafoya, Marylou Lopez and spouse Leo Lopez, Elizabeth Tafoya, Linda Tafoya and spouse Pablo Garcia.

Also surviving are sister Lena Cruz and spouse Robert Cruz, brothers Leroy Pacheco and spouse Tina Pacheco and Freddy Pacheco.

Surviving also are brothers-in-law Arthur Tafoya, Dan Tafoya and sister-in-law Aurora Tafoya.

She was preceeded in death by sister Betty Sandoval and brother Gino Pacheco

Surviving grandchildren include Manuel Sanchez and spouse Jennifer Sanchez, Jamie Sanchez and spouse Tom Vasquez, Frank Martinez, Brandon Cordova, Isaiah Cordova, Brandy Caro and spouse Sal Caro, Carlos Tafoya and spouse Xochime Tafoya, Vendy Lopez and spouse Marshea Johnson, Angela Tafoya and spouse Rodney Basquez, Jessica Haynes and spouse Josh Lucero, J.D. Castillo, John Tafoya, Angelo Romero and spouse Matt Bernal, Nikki Romero, Rachael Baranski and spouse Joseph Baranski, Victoria Cabague and spouse Christian Cabague.

She is also survived by 30 great-grand children and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Lydia Tafoya have been postponed and will be announced for a later date by the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home of Raton.
