In Loving Memory of Comer DeWayne Clark

Comer DeWayne Clark, age 77, died on Monday, November 9, 2020, at his home in Dalhart, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, Texas with Pastor Robert Ledbetter, pastor of the Hillside Christian Church in Dalhart, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Comer DeWayne Clark was born on May 30, 1943, in Amarillo, Texas to Willie Comer Clark and Sallie Lou (Gaylar) Clark. He attended school in Dalhart through junior high and then moved to Amarillo where he attended Tascosa High School. He worked as a maintenance man for Campbells Soup, the packing plant and he later worked for XIT as a mechanic before going to work for a transport company for the railroad as a driver. DeWayne was a very spiritual person and he loved to donate to any organization in need. He attended Hillside Christian Church in Dalhart faithfully. DeWayne was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister; Mary Birdsong.

SURVIVORS:

1 DAUGHTER: Katrina Stark and her husband Ryan of Canyon, Texas.

1 SON: Robert Clark and his wife Kelsey of Dalhart, Texas.

6 GRANDCHILDREN: Ashton Salas, Abigail Salas, and Aiden Salas all of Canyon, Texas, and Olivia Reyna, Carl Clark, and Oliver Clark all of Dalhart, Texas.

1 SISTER: Billie Gail Porter of Amarillo, Texas.

And several nieces and nephews.

    I wanted to send my love and prayers to Bud Flaming’s family. I have such fond memories of him. He was a special person, always making me feel like his true friend. We got to know each other at the bank I worked at. I talked to him a lot on the phone and followed him as he traveled around in tbeir moyor home. My condolences to Iva and family.
