NAME Gladys Marie Jesko, age 82, died on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at her home in Clayton, New Mexico.

SERVICES: Rosary will be recited at 9:00 AM on Monday, October 5, 2020, and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Fr. BACKGROUND: Gladys Marie Jesko was born on August 31, 1938, in McClain County, Oklahoma to Bill Whalin and Hazel Elizabeth (Russell) Whalin. Gladys was raised in Muleshoe, Texas, and attended school there. In high school, Gladys was voted Most Attractive. Gladys married Rudy Jesko on July 14, 1960, in Muleshoe, Texas. In 1963, they moved to Clayton, New Mexico where they lived and farmed. Gladys worked for the Farm Service Agency as the County Executive Director for 32 years and retired in 2005. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Bill Whalin.

SURVIVORS:

1 DAUGHTER: Karen Hodge and her husband Jay of Levelland, Texas.

1 SON: Kirk Jesko and his wife Debbie of Clayton, New Mexico.

3 GRANDCHILDREN: Joshua Hodge and Maegan Hodge both of Lubbock, Texas, and Chad Hodge and Caitlyn Villarreal and their daughter Brynn Hodge all of Littlefield, Texas.

1 SISTER: Laura Faulk of College Station, Texas, and her children; Nancy Faulk and Rick Faulk both of Houston, Texas.

A very close friend of the family; Richy Hidalgo and his wife Christina and their children; James Hidalgo, Alex Hidalgo, and Drew Hidalgo all of Clayton, New Mexico.

And her caregivers; Farah Garcia and Chrystal Martin.

MEMORIALS: The family asks that memorials be made in Gladys’ memory to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Ladies Altar Society.
