Beginning Monday, September 21, 2020, Las Animas County Offices within the courthouse will be open to the public. The opening will be a “soft opening”.
Anyone entering the facility to conduct county business will be required to wear a mask; pass through screening and security; social distance and will be escorted to their place of business by the County Screeners.
All Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Las Animas-Huerfano Counties Public Health Department (HD), and Center for Disease Control (CDC) requirements regarding Covid-19 shall be adhered to while within all county buildings and on county grounds, including but not limited to mask-wearing, hand sanitizing and social distancing.
The Las Animas County Department of Human Services is still operating via emails and phone calls only.
Please keep in mind, every county office has minimal capacity for the public; therefore, there may be times that the public will have to wait in line to be escorted to a county office and must follow the social distancing and mask-wearing requirement. As always it is suggested when possible to reduce exposure to Covid-19 and to limit the number of people within the courthouse, citizens are encouraged to make every effort to conduct your county business online, through the drop boxes or by phone. Also, if possible, please utilize the voting by mail or drop-box process set up by the elections department.
The county offices’ soft opening does not pertain to any State of Colorado or Judicial offices within the County Courthouse; however, all persons entering the facility for whatever reason shall be required to wear a mask, pass through screening and security, and social distance.
