George F. Garcia was born in Raton, NM on May 8, 1947, and passed away on September 3, 2020. He was born to Florence Aragon and Jacobo Garcia whom preceded him in death, also preceding him in death are his brother Jake Garcia and wife Lucy, sister-in-law Beatrice Garcia, special niece Cordelia Garcia and special nephew’s Joseph Garcia, Justin Garcia, Kevin Garcia, and Johnny Ray Garcia.
George is survived by son Anthony Martinez from Denver, CO. Brothers, Lloyd Garcia from San Pablo, CA., Joe and wife Helen Garcia, Gilbert and wife Molly, Ben Garcia, and companion Shirley Garcia. Sisters; Rosie Cardenas and companion Jim Blea, Eralia Ponce of Pasadena, CA., Helen Benavidez, Josephine Garcia, and companion Pete Fernandez, and Johnny Garcia and wife Juanita of Las Vegas, Nevada.
George enjoyed the horse races, he worked at La Mesa Park for many years as a groomer and horse trainer, He enjoyed walking to the All Seasons every morning to have his Coffee and Apple Pie. He would sit there and scratch the tickets he bought the night before.
George was liked by everyone; he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, recited by Larry Guara followed by The Solemn of The Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. with Father Bill Woytavich as the Celebrant. Rite of Committal and interment will follow at the Mount Calvary Cemetery.
