Phillip Lawrence Bowden, 76 left this earthly landscape to find his place in the great outdoors. Phillip was born on December 4, 1943, in Silver City, New Mexico to Ronald Bowden and Sylvia Allen.
Phillip enlisted and entered the United States Army in May of 1963 and was stationed in El Paso, TX. He was then transferred to Fort Dix, NJ where he served as a Private in the 1st Engineer Battalion. He was honorably discharged in October of 1964 and returned home, where he worked for the Silver City Fire Department and earned the rank of Lieutenant. From there, he began working throughout the U.S. in several states, and ultimately landed in Colorado, where he remained until his passing. He has one son, who he stayed close to throughout his life so that he could easily be near him.
Phillip loved the outdoors. He spent most of his free time roaming through the forests of southern Colorado and enjoyed the views and wildlife. He loved roaming Trinidad. Phillip loved being out and about and meeting new friends. He had a passion and love for all of his friends. He appreciated and loved his caregivers at the Trinidad Inn Nursing Home.
Phillip is preceded in death by his mother and father, and his sister Lauri Susan Babcock. He is survived by his son Arthur (Artie) Bowden of Trinidad, Colorado, and his Brother Arthur Bowden of Prescott Valley, AZ,.
Graveside services and inurnment will be held Friday, August 14, 2020, at 10 am at Trinidad Catholic Cemetery with Brother Harry Gonzales officiating.
Military Honors to be conducted by Ft. Carson Honor Guard.
