Pearl A. Cunico age 90 of Raton, NM passed away June 12, 2020, at MCMC Long-term in Raton. She was born on February 6, 1930, in Raton, NM, the daughter of Garland Leon and Etta Gibson-Arnold. On June 27, 1948, Pearl Married her life long soul mate Chris Cunico Jr and was married for 59 years until Chris passed away.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chris Cunico Jr., three brothers, Oda Arnold, Garland, and Willard Ray. Two sisters, Marian Anderson-Turner and Vallie Pauline. She is survived by Son Karl D. Cunico and Wife Bonnie, daughter Vallie Burks and Husband Tony, Luetta Schuchhardt and husband Donald, brother-in-law Pete Weisher, sister-in-law Sandra Arnold and Inez Cunico. Nine grandchildren, Stoney Burks (Destry), Tonya Burks Le Pone, Tom Burks (Eilene), Christy Hronich Willman (Scott). Lori Burks Swaney (Randell) Toni Jo Hronich Earle (Gabe) Stephanie Rickerman (Brandon), Nikki Malcone, and John E. Hronich (Jessica). Twenty four Great Grandchildren and 10 Great Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends.
She served the Lord since she was 12 years old, she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church before going into the Nursing Home. The family would like to thank Dr. Zimly for treating her. Springer general nursing while she was there and a special thank you to the doctor, nurses, and all other employees at MCMC Longterm that made moms stay enjoyable.
A limited memorial service will be Saturday, June 20, 2020, at 4:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Burks officiating. Masks will be required to attend.
