Feliciano (Felix/Phil) C. Moreno, 69, of Stansbury Park, Utah, passed away surrounded by family at home on June 15, 2020, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Phil was born on November 29th, 1950 to Secundino and Amada Moreno in Raton, NM. After graduating from Raton High School in 1969, he went on to study Educational Counseling, graduating from Highlands University at Las Vegas, NM.
He was a Coach and Counselor for Tooele High School for 20 years. In 1982, he met Linda Beery and they married in 1983 in Raton, NM. Then in 1987, their daughter Katherine Evelyn was born. He was determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Katherine and Linda and always tried his best to support them.
Phil loved to joke around and make others laugh; he was a kind and loving man, going out of his way to help his friends and family as well as strangers he met along the way. He was passionate about sports, his lawn, and learning new skills such as photography. He could often be found relaxing in his perfectly manicured backyard talking with people as they walked by.
Anyone who knew Phil knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Phil was predeceased by his parents, his sister Angelina, and his nephew Phillip Moreno. He is survived by sister Lori (Mario) Maestas from Raton, NM; Robbin (Jerry) Hewitt from Northport, AL; Mary (Eloy) Salazar, Eleanor Harper, Liz (Jerry) Webb all from Albuquerque, NM; brothers Jim (Lydia) Moreno, John Moreno, Secondino Jr. Moreno from Albuquerque, NM; step sister Juanita Martin from Columbia South Carolina. Surviving in-laws are Ruth (Paul) Wiebelhaus of Seattle, WA; Jack (Pixie) Beery of Venice, CA; and Reed (Debbie) Beery, of Ft. Collins, CO. As well as all his incredible nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the gravesite of Secundino and Amada Moreno, in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Bill Woytavich as the celebrant, on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 12pm in Raton, NM.
For those in Salt Lake Valley and surrounding area, an open house Celebration of Life will be held at the family home in Stansbury Park, UT on Saturday, June 27th, 2020 from 10am – 4pm.
