In Loving Memory of Lorene Cusimano

Lorene Cusimano passed away on June 4, 2020, at Mt. San Rafael Hospital.  She was born on August 22, 1948. Her parents were John and Lucille (Price) Cusimano.  She was a graduate of Hoehne High School and Trinidad State Junior College.

After graduating from Trinidad State, she worked in the college bookstore as staff and later as assistant manager.  She loved helping students, becoming an extra mother to many of them. She worked at the Trek-Inn Bookstore for 46 years retiring in August 2012.

Lorene was a dedicated baseball fan and the TSJC Trojans were her favorite team.  When the college started the “Adopt-A- Trojan Program”, Lorene was one of the first to sign up. In April of 1997, she was awarded” A Baseball Mom” plaque for her service above and beyond the call of duty. She received many awards for her dedication to athletics at Trinidad State but her greatest reward was the love and appreciation she received from all her “kids”.   She was Mom to many baseball, softball, and volleyball players.  Long after students graduated from Trinidad State, they kept in touch with her.

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, John & Lucille Cusimano and her special dog, Tazzie.  She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Ron Martin, her nephew Ronnie Martin, her aunts, Jean Cusimano and Janice Price, many cousins, lots of former TSJC baseball, softball, and volleyball players.

At her request, no services will be held.  Her ashes will be interned next to her parents.  Please remember all the good times you had with Lorene.  She is watching the games in a better place.   Donations can be made to the TSJC Booster Club in memory of Lorene.

At her request, cremation with private family services, with inurnment at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.
