Gloria J Aguilar passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at the age of 72 in Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado due to a lengthy illness. She was born on May 26, 1948, in Trinidad, Colorado to Basilio Barela and Mary Ann Duran. She attended area schools, eventually graduating from Trinidad High School in 1966. She worked and dedicated herself to being a C.N.A. at the Trinidad State Nursing Home and a Caregiver with S.C.C.O.G. before retiring. Gloria was a breast cancer survivor. She dedicated her life in faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and honesty. She enjoyed playing solitaire, collecting rocks, spending time, and reminiscing with family and friends. Gloria is survived by her daughter Carri Castello, son Nathan Aguilar, granddaughters Erika Gonzalez, Jessica(José) Ramos, Melissa Rowley, and Vanessa Rowley; and her great-grandchildren Daniel, Jared, Renatya, Jotham, and Jonah, her brother Ken Cruz, and aunts Phyllis(Dan) Jury, Madeline Duran, and Margaret Vigil. Gloria is preceded in death by her grandparents John and Grace Duran, her mother, ex-husband Marty Castello, son Jason Castello, husband Bob Aguilar, and uncles George Duran and Nash Vigil. At Gloria’s request, she has been cremated. There will be a Zoom online service on Saturday, June 13th, 2020 at 2 p.m. with a talk given Brother Bob Powell. Honorary pallbearers Robert Martinez, Julio Chavez, Jeremiah Valdez, Jason Valdez, and José Ramos.
