Robert Tafoya was born on November 26, 1953 to Eloisa and Jo Phil Tafoya in Capulin, NM. Early on he was taught the value of hard work, that stayed with him throughout his life. He spent his life working on various ranches and day laboring for various contractors. In 1994 he went to work for the Bennett Ranch. Devoting himself to the late Vernon Bennett till his retirement in 2004. Robert enjoyed fishing and doing wood crafts along with rock hunting.
He is survived by his daughter Makeyia Tafoya and her husband Eryn Yoder of Nara Visa, NM. Grandchildren Gary Trujillo Jr. of Dalhart TX. Maggie Trujillo of Texline TX. Dwayne and Terry Evans of Nara Visa, NM. Sisters Marcella Abeyta of Capulin, NM. Rose Cruz of Capulin, NM. Katy and husband Jose Tilio Sintas Sr. of Capulin, NM. Melinda and husband Wayne Cruz of Capulin, NM. Sister-in-law Maxine Tafoya of Springer, NM. Brother John Tafoya and wife Mary of Raton, NM. Ex-wife and friend Diane and husband Larry Avis of Utah. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents Jo Phil and Eloisa Tafoya. Brother Jo Jesse Tafoya and his wife Roberta Tafoya. Sister Louisa and husband Ralph Trujillo with their daughter Beatrice Trujillo. Brother Edward Tafoya, Brother-in-law Joe Bob Cowan. Brother- in law Phil Abeyta, Brother-in-law Felix Cruz. Nephews, Franklin Sintas, Dominic Stockton, and Ronnie Tafoya. Robert was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
