In Loving Memory of Ted (Curly) L. Sandoval Sr.

Ted (Curly) L. Sandoval Sr. age 92 passed away April 5, 2020, peacefully at his home in Raton, NM. He was born November 9, 1927, to the late Jose Estevan and Salome (Pacheco) Sandoval in Miami, NM.

He is preceded by his wife Betty L. (Richardson) Sandoval, to whom he was married for 70 years! His brothers’ Ray, Daniel, and Robert, infant sister Teresa. Brother-in-laws Henry (Corn) Martinez, Don, and Augustine (Red Griego, Lee Cortez, Neal Rachel, and sister-in-law Lorraine Sandoval. He is survived by son, Ted (JoAnn) Sandoval Jr. daughters Carolyn Sue (Albert) Garcia, Betty Jean (JB) Evans all of Raton, Jo Ellen (John) Owerko of Albuquerque. Nine grandchildren, Kevin, Tammy, David, Steven, Donnie, Albert, James, Alisha, and Johanna. Nineteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Brother Chris (Patsy) of Angel Fire, NM, sisters, Dolores Griego of Tempe AZ, Frances Greigo of Pueblo, CO, Ruby Cortez of Miami, NM Isabel Lloyd, Mary Martinez, Louise (Jim) Johnson of Cimarron, NM, and Martha Rachel of Denver, CO. Special sister-in-law Jeannie Richardson of Woody, CA. and Doris (Frank) Niner of Los Lunas, NM, Faye Avila of Raton, brother-in-law Bill (Sharon) Richardson of Crane TX and numerous nieces nephews and friends, especially Leonard (Elfie) Ashbaugh of Raton.

Ted worked for many different places from his 8th-grade education until his retirement in 2003. He worked alongside his Dad for the Hansens, Haywords, Philmont Scout Ranch, McDaniels, then the Gourelys (WS Ranch), Pendletons, Brown Const, Grahams, and Hollingsworth. Then in 1977, he opened up his own business, Sandoval’s Auto Repair Shop, with his wife and son. He was a hard-working man, a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and mentor. He was greatly loved and will be in our hearts forever. Until we meet again Senor!!
