In Loving Memory of Felix Montoya

Felix Montoya, age 84, died on Thursday, April 23, 2020, at his home in Clayton, New Mexico.

A private family graveside service will be held and the family will have a Memorial Mass for Felix at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Felix Montoya was born on November 20, 1935, in Clayton, New Mexico to Antonio Montoya and Agapita (Casados) Montoya. A lifelong resident of Clayton, New Mexico, Felix married Adelina (Gonzales) Montoya on December 24, 1954, in Clayton, New Mexico and she preceded him in death on June 8, 2014. Felix worked as a sheepherder with his grandfather for several years. He worked most of his life as a carpenter and he retired from the Town of Clayton. Felix served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton. In addition to his wife and parents, Felix was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Tony Montoya, Jr., Lawrence Montoya, and Charley Montoya and 3 sisters; Flora Sanchez and Rachel and Helen.

4 DAUGHTERS: Ramona Armendariz and her husband Juan of Clayton, New Mexico, Ursula Brown, and her husband David of Hobbs, New Mexico, Debbie Montoya and her husband Michael of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Jerrah Montoya of Clayton, New Mexico.

4 SONS: Alex Montoya and his wife Claudia of Carlsbad, New Mexico and Michael Montoya, Charles Montoya, and Jeremy Montoya and his wife Pauline all of Clayton, New Mexico.

3 BROTHERS: Dick Montoya and his wife Lugarita, Louis Montoya, and Leo Montoya and his wife Mary all of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 SISTER: Margaret Vigil and her husband Abdon of Dumas, Texas.

22 Grandchildren, 27 Great-Grandchildren, and 2 on the way.

And numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
