Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend went to be with our Lord on April 5, 2020.
Margie Duran Salazar was born March 17, 1925 to Lucy Leal Rubidoux and Tomas Duran in Dawson, NM. Margie spent her childhood and early adult life in Raton, NM before moving north to Denver, CO in 1971.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and one sister; and her son, Richard Sainz.
Margie is survived by her 8 children- Dorothy(Salazar) Jaramillo and husband Ray; Helen Duran, Nancy(Duran)Brian and husband Stan; Peggy(Duran) Alvarado and husband Jaime; Gilbert Duran all living in and around the Denver area; Gertrude(Duran) Marquez and husband Gene in Ely, NV; Irene Duran in Shafter, CA; and Jackie Duran of Raton, NM. Also survived and greatly missed by 26 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as seven surviving siblings, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Margie was loved by so many during her long life and will be loved forever and missed by all who knew her.
Memorial services will be planned at a later date when her family can gather together.
