Jim was born on March 07, 1955, to Bennett F. and Evelyn M. Hackett, who preceded him in death along with infant twin brothers, Donald and David Hackett; loving daughter Jennifer Yvonne Hackett Romero and nieces Wendy Turner and Christine Turner.
He leaves behind the love of his life, wife of 44 years, Marty Hackett, sons Joel (Nicole) Tafoya, Mathew (Robyn) Torres, James Hackett, Waylon Hackett and daughters Jessica Hackett, Natalie Hackett (Billy Cordova), and Rebecca Mares. He is also survived by his brother Thomas (Viki) Hackett and sister Catherine (John) Martinez; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as twenty grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jim developed many talents over the years working in landscaping, security, maintenance and as a delivery truck driver, caregiver, ranch manager, welder, deckhand, logger, hunting guide and Kirby salesman. He was an avid fisherman, a self-taught, skilled trapper, and hunter and had a great passion for music, which he passed down to his children. His smile, laughter and incredible sense of humor will be missed by his family and many friends.
Cremation has taken place and Memorial services will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church at a later date. Arrangements made under the direction of Comi Funeral Home.
