SPRINGER – The New Mexico Department of Transportation – District Four will begin road construction on U.S. 56 between mileposts 20 to 35 (Between Springer and Clayton) starting on April 6th. A lane closure will be in effect during working hours which will consist of a pilot car operation, the traveling public is advised to expect minor delays.

The process is simple; first, you scarify, second, you add a rejuvenating agent, and then replace and compact with the traditional laydown and roller/ compactor equipment. The project has a completion date of around the middle of May, weather permitting.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation – District Four wants to remind motorists to drive safely through work zones and obey all traffic laws.
