Carnegie Public Library Wishes to Announce the Following Updates…

Starting this past Saturday, to help stop the spread of the COVID-19 disease in Trinidad, we have closed the library to the public until further notice. The library staff has been cleaning and sanitizing the interior surfaces and cleaning the books and other materials coming into the library from the dropbox.

We are checking the dropbox frequently, and you can use the dropbox to return items you have checked out previously. Remember, though, that there are no fines for overdue books and movies, so feel free to keep library materials at home. We will make certain that you are not fined for any checked-out library materials, no matter how long the library remains closed to the public.

We have suspended all outstanding holds to avoid materials coming into and going out of the library. This means your existing holds will remain in the system and will be filled when the library opens again. You can also create new holds online, but again, you will have to wait to receive your items when the library opens again, and the courier service resumes.

You can create holds online by visiting our website and clicking on “Aspencat” near the bottom of the page. We are also keeping up with the latest reliable news about the pandemic. The first banner you see on the home page announces the library closure. Click the banner to get more information about the library closure, and links to reliable news about the pandemic. Thanks for your patience. Stay home if you can, stay away from others if you can’t. —Tom
