Press Release
City of Trinidad
March 16, 2020
To minimize the exposure of citizens to the spread of COVID-
19 and in cooperation with the Las Animas-Huerfano County
Department of Health and the County Commissioners, the City
of Trinidad is encouraging all persons wanting to do business
with the City to utilize digital or telephone communication, to
pay bills online or over the phone, to conduct meetings via
teleconference and to refrain from contact distances of less
then 6 feet.
At this time, all City Council meetings and Boards and
Commissions meetings will be postponed until further notice.
Additionally, the Welcome Center, Carnegie Public Library and
the Community Center are closed. The March Municipal Court
date has been postponed until further notice.
Currently, City Hall remains open, however, we are no longer
accepting in-person utility payments. Payments can be made
with a credit/debit card either on-line or over the phone, or
checks and money orders can be placed in the dropbox. In an
effort to minimize personal contact, we kindly request that any other municipal business that can be handled via telephone or email rather than in person be done so until such time as the situation is abated.
Please be patient as we work through this challenge and take
the steps necessary to dissipate this situation as quickly as
possible. It is imperative that all community members work
together at this time to lessen the possible spread of the disease and reduce the long-term impact on our community.
For utility questions, please call 719-846-9843, ext 113.
For all other questions, call 719-846-9843, ext 0.
