In Loving Memory of Martin Eugene Shaw

Martin Eugene Shaw, 46, was born on June 19, 1973, and passed away at home on February 28, 2020, in Apache Junction, AZ. He was born to Richard and Barbara Shaw, and he grew up on the Shaw’s family ranch. He was very active in 4-H activities in Harding County, as well as going on and being on the State 4-H Leadership teams as an Ambassador and Vice President. He was active in sports while in school but enjoyed showing his 4-H animals the most. He also got his first chance to try being a rodeo clown at a local 4-H rodeo – that was the start of a whole new love.
Martin attended NMSU for a short time but college was not for him. He was a bullfighter at NMSU rodeos and he just loved this sport. He went on and became a full-time professional bullfighter and clown in Arizona and in New Mexico. He absolutely loved being a clown and loved making people laugh. Martin loved kids and he was an “uncle” to many. As a clown, he never turned a kid away that wanted to see his acts.
Martin loved people period, and when he loved you, he loved you with his whole heart. He had a heart of gold and he lived the gospel by being the first one there to help someone in need or opening his home with Sandy to many for a place to stay.
Martin had his cattle hauling business called One-Way Trucking with his wife Sandy. He hauled for Van Der Brink Trucking for many years.
Martin and Sandy loved sharing their latest hobby, water sports with family and many friends. They would take their boat and motor home and spend countless weekends at the lake, including hauling the boat to share the fun in Minnesota with Sandy’s family.
Martin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Richard and Pauline Shaw, maternal grandparents Frank and Lucille Cimino, and one nephew, James Hammer. He is survived by his wife Sandy, parents Richard and Barbara Shaw, sisters Amanda (James) Hammer, and Melissa (Jose) Gonzalez; uncles Don (Barbara) Shaw, Gary (Jackie) Shaw, Frank (Sylvia) Cimino, and aunts Rosemary (Bob) Feldman, Loretta (Paul) Wolske, niece Lanie Hammer and baby Gonzalez on the way; and in-laws Rollie and Aggie Eull, and brothers Greg (Pam) Mans; Randy (Dawn) Mans; Tim (Cindy) Mans and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of the resurrection will be Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 10:00 A.M. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Roy, NM with Father John Brasher as the celebrant. Rite of Christian burial will follow in the Mofax cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Justin Cowboy Crises Fund or the St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Arrangements and celebration of love for Martin Eugene Shaw are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
