Carlos Cruz Gomez “Chuck “, died in Lakewood CO, on February 13, 2020, at the age of 83.
Charles was born on August 13, 1936, in Valdez CO. to Manuelita and Eduardo Gomez.
He graduated from Adams State University in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and in 1963 with a Master of Arts in Business Administration.
He married Mary Jane Garcia in 1955. After serving in the United States Marine Corps Charles and Mary Jane moved to Colorado Springs. Charles worked for Ft Carson Elementary as a teacher and for the Civil Service Commission Service and Environmental Protection Agency.
Charles enjoyed gardening, sports, camping, fishing and playing softball. He was passionate about education, reading, and current world events. He is survived by wife Mary Jane, children, Cindi Gallegos (Jack Rons), Stephen Gomez,(Vicky), Duane Gomez (Niki), Rick Gomez (Lorie), siblings Dora Lovato and Barbara Lovato.
Preceding him in death our parents Manuelita and Eduardo Gomez, siblings Margaret Ruybal, Emma Apodaca, Madeline Barela, Ernie, Louie, Ricardo, Jose, and Anthony Gomez. Memorial service was in Lakewood, CO on February 22. A heartfelt thank you to all who attended the services. My brother Chuck grew up in a large family and kept in touch as much as possible. He will surely be missed.
