Elaine Marie Wade, passed away on February 22, 2020, with her family by her side in Raton, New Mexico.
She was born on October 7, 1939, in Dawson, New Mexico to Everni and Mary Arcangeli. She graduated from Raton High School in 1959; shortly after she moved to Denver to attend a business school where she met the love of her life James Kermit Wade. They were married April 4, 1960, in Raton, New Mexico where they have spent the last 60 years dedicating their lives to raising their beautiful family.
In 1965 Elaine started working for the Raton School District as a librarian for Kearny Elementary school where she dedicated most of her life to helping many children. She is fondly remembered as Mrs. Wade the librarian. Her interests included family, sewing, crafting, and golfing with Jim. She devoted most of her time and energy to taking care of her family and friends.
Mrs. Wade is survived by her husband James Wade; brother Everni Arcangeli and wife Nancy; their 2 children and their spouses, Jacqueline and George Riley, Jim and Darla Wade; 6 grandchildren James Guiseppe Wade, Dustin Wade and wife Cassie, Katy Riley and pup Aries, Ashley Gendron and husband Aaron, Darcy Riley and partner Bren Burns, Lorenzo Wade; and 4 great-grandchildren, Talen and Teagen Bustillos Aiden Riley, Dominic Gendron, Maverick Wade, and Jackson Burns, and numerous cousin, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Everni and Mary Arcangeli and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Services are under the direction of Yaksich-Long Funeral Home and will be held Thursday, February 27, 2020, at 10:30 AM at St Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Internment to follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery in Raton. Join us for lunch immediately afterward at Parish Hall.
