In Loving Memory of Orie Gene Tibljas

Orie Gene Tibljas died at the age of 65. Orie was born in Raton, New Mexico, and moved to Aguilar, Colorado, in 1983. He worked at UPS as a truck driver for 31 years, retiring in 2014. Previous to that he worked 10 years at the Allen coal mine. He graduated from Raton High School.
Orie is survived by his wife of 35 years Lana Tibljas, 70, son Devin Tibljas, 30, and granddaughter Amelia Tibljas, 2; his brothers Richard Tibljas, 67, and Ed Tibljas, 69. He was preceded in death by sister, Charlotte Tibljas.
Orie was an avid fisherman, hunter, boater, woodworker, and traveler. There was seldom a weekend not spent with family and friends enjoying the activities he loved. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his granddaughter Amelia. He went on many fishing trips with the guys and hunted elk every year with his son and brother. Nearly every summer weekend for most of his life was spent at the lake waterskiing. He spent much of the winter building custom hardwood furniture. He traveled to 16 countries with his wife, never missing out on an adventure. He was a friend to all he met. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is at peace with God.
A service will be held at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Aguilar, Saturday February 22nd at 10AM.
