Alta Faye (Robinson) Callis, age 87, died on Monday, February 10, 2020 in Clayton, New Mexico.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton with Rev. Hilario Perez and Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Burial will follow in the Texline Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Alta Faye (Robinson) Callis was born on April 27, 1932 in Samnorwood, Texas to William Raymond Robinson and Sarah Evelyn (Clark) Robinson. Alta Faye was a life long resident of the Sedan area in Union County, New Mexico. She married Charley Callis on August 21, 1949 in Sedan and he preceded her in death on March 2, 2004. They farmed and ranched most of their lives in the Sedan area. She worked at the post office in Sedan and Alta Faye and Charley ran the Sedan Mercantile for many years. She was a member of the Church of God in Sedan for 50 years until they had to close their doors. During that time, Alta Faye served as secretary and treasurer for many years. In addition to her husband, Alta Faye was preceded in death by her parents and by 2 brothers: Clifton Robinson and Ralph Robinson.

1 DAUGHTER: Kathy Johnston and her husband John of Clayton, New Mexico.
2 SONS: Darrell Callis and his wife Diana of Seneca, South Carolina and Quint Callis of Clayton, New Mexico.
7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
and by 3 sisters-in-law: Wilma Callis, Glenna Robinson and Ruth Robinson.
MEMORIALS: The family asks that memorials be made in Alta Faye’s memory to either the Sedan Community Center ot to Union County General Hospital.
