Attention New Mexico high school students interested in studying agriculture! The New Mexico Tourism Department helps facilitate and promote the 505 Southwestern New Mexico True Scholarship for high school students. The scholarship awards $5,000 to a student looking to attend an in-state school for agriculture-related studies. The deadline to apply is March 24. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must: be graduating seniors of a New Mexico high school; plan to attend an accredited college or university in New Mexico beginning fall 2020 and be enrolled full time; have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in their first six semesters of high school; have completed a FAFSA application for the upcoming college year; and demonstrate a commitment to making an impact in the agricultural industry and/or overall economy of food and agriculture of New Mexico.
To apply for this scholarship, students are required to register on the New Mexico Community Foundation’s web portal as a scholarship applicant. Please select “Scholarship Applicant” under “Portal Access” on the registration form. Register here.
