The Lady Dons (10-2) traveled up I-25 to Raton for the first district matchup of the season for Raton Tuesday, January 21, 2020 and traveled in the fog back home with three big wins.
C-Team game started off slow and and continued that way the rest of the game with Raton committing 19 turnovers to West’s nine. When it was all over West took the win 27-9.
During the JV game West took the quick early lead and held Raton to single digit scoring the whole game while the Lady Dons did double digits with the exception of the fourth quarter. When the final buzzer sounded West took the win at 66-25.
The varsity game was another runaway as Raton was held to single digit scores while West did double digits until the fourth quarter when both teams went scoreless. The West defense played a strong aggressive game which caused Raton to commit 20 turnovers and allowed West to take a halftime lead of 34 points. West has mastered the fast break and turned many of those 20 turnovers into points. West took the win by 43 with a 54-11 final.
