Vera Jeannette (Davis) Reagan Nuttall, age 98, died on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at her home in Texline, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Texline Cemetery in Texline, Texas with Rev. Jeff Bayley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Vera Jeannette (Davis) Reagan Nuttall was born on December 12, 1921 on the Twelve Mile Prairie by Fort Washita, Oklahoma in Bryan County in Chickasaw Territory. Vera was one quarter Chickasaw. She graduated from Kenefie High School in Kenefie, Oklahoma in 1939. Vera was always a very hard worker, as a young mother she worked picking cotton and pecans. Vera married Homer Reagan in September of 1942 in Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on February 1, 1975. They moved to Dalhart, Texas in the early 1950’s and then moved to the Texline area in 1957. Vera later married Forrest L. Nuttall in December of 1978 and he preceded her in death on June 11, 2017. Vera was a member of the Texline Church of Christ and she loved gardening. In addition to her parents and husbands, Vera was preceded in death by a son, Billy Joe Reagan, a daughter, Vicki Smithson Bush, a son-in-law, Larry Smithson, a daughter-in-law, Elaine Reagan, 4 sisters, Malacha, Winifred, Frances Ann and Ruby Belle, 3 brothers, Edgel, Martin and Lewis and by a great-great-granddaughter, Jocelynn Steen.

1 SON: Glenn Reagan and his wife Mildred of Texline, Texas.
1 SISTER: Josephine Mattison of Lebanon, Oregon.
7 GRANDCHILDREN: Kathy McGee and her husband Duane of Sahuarita, Arizona, Paula Steen and her husband Caroll of Texline, Texas, Lori McInnis and her husband Philip of Gordonville, Texas, Sam Reagan and his wife Kellie of Arlington, Texas, Bobbi Wieck and her husband Nathan of Sherman, Texas and Jim Reagan and his wife Kristy and Cinda Urquhart and her husband Mark all of Austin, Texas.
18 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Darrel Hurst and Tanyia Stewart who were like grandchildren to her.
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and her dog Coalie.
MEMORIALS: The family asks that memorials be made in Vera’s memory to the Texline Cemetery Association.
