In Loving Memory of Sadie R. Acevedo

Sadie R. Acevedo, age 73, passed away Wednesday December 18, 2019, at Cibola General Hospital in Grants, NM. She was born on June 15, 1946.
She was a lifelong resident of Raton and a member of VFW Post 1793. Sadie dedicated her life to lending a helping hand and donating to others in need.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Acevedo, Jr., son Frank W. Acevedo, her parents John J. Tapia and Mela Tapia, and stepfather, Al P. Moore and two brothers Jake Tapia and Johnny Tapia. She is survived by son Joe A. Acevedo of Raton, NM, and daughter, Deborah Lucero and her husband Alex Lucero of Gilbert, AZ, two sisters, Esther Morales of Grants, NM and Irene Vasquez and her husband Albert of Las Vegas, NV, two brothers, Richard Tapia of Van Nuys, CA, and James Tapia of Raton, NM. She is also survived by her grandchildren Angel, Kristin, Joseph, Alex, Ezekiel, Frank Jr., and Richie.
Sadie’s wishes were not to have any type of service. A gathering for the burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at 10 a. m.
