Wanda Elizabeth (Seely) Bush, age 92, died on Thursday, January 2, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Central Time on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Texline, Texas with Rev. Ron Lambert, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Paducah, Texas officiating. Burial will follow in the Texline Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Wanda Elizabeth (Seely) Bush was born on August 19, 1927, in Dalhart, Texas to Alvay Burton Seely and Bonnie Bessie (West) Seely. She attended school in Sedan and then graduated from Clayton High School. Wanda married John Joseph “Jodie” Bush in 1942 and he preceded her in death on August 4, 2009. Wanda attended New Mexico Highlands University and earned her Bachelors Degree in Business Education in 1957 graduating Cum Laude. She then earned her Masters Degree in 1968 from Eastern New Mexico University. Wanda taught school in Tucumcari, New Mexico for 23 years, teaching Middle School English and all of the Business classes in the High School level. She retired in 1980 and moved to Eagle Nest, New Mexico and then returned to Sedan, New Mexico in 1985 for health reasons. Wanda was a member of the First Baptist Church in Texline since 1993. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and she will be sorely missed by all. In addition to her parents and husband, Wanda was preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy Griffin and Wanda Grubb, and by 2 grandsons-in-law, Ozzie Sakinini and Derek Conrad.

1 DAUGHTER: Carolyn Iceneder of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
1 SON: Larry Bush of Halfway, Oregon.
9 GRANDCHILDREN: Shelley Sakinini, Timmy Rinestine and his wife Sheena, David Grubb and his wife Jen, Karen Michael and her husband Bryan, Donita Correra and her husband Marc, Sherry Conrad, Eddie Iceneder and his wife Sarah, Kelli Paddock and her husband Blaine and Elizabeth Roe and her husband Ryan.
20 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
I am so sorry to hear this. I remember Mr. and Mrs. Bush as a little girl in Tucumcari when Carolyn was married to Uncle Jackie. Sad to hear of her passing. Prayers to you all.
