Ira Herman Kuhlman of Grand Junction Colorado passed away on December 10, 2019 at the age of 73 surrounded by family and friends.
Ira was born in Springer New Mexico on December 28th, 1945 to Everett and Mary Kuhlman. He grew up ranching and farming. He received his certification as a master electrician in Wisconsin and was involved in construction, mining and natural gas. Ira was an EMT for a coal mine and served as a Texas Highway Patrolman.
Ira loved hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and traveling in his RV with his wife Betty Jo. Ira had a passion for learning, sharing knowledge, and mentoring. He never knew a stranger and had a wonderful disposition that was infectious.
Ira was preceded in death by Everett Kuhlman (father), Mary Kuhlman (mother), Paul Kuhlman (brother), Marjorie Della Kuhlman (sister in law) and Sandy Kuhlman (sister in law).
Ira is survived by his wife Betty Jo Kuhlman of Grand Junction CO, brother Jack Kuhlman, daughters Becky P (Michael) Hood of Ellicott City MD, Yvette (Jeffrey) Chapman of Lubbock TX, Laura (Shawn) Henn of Lubbock TX, Salie (Robert) Stoner-Bennet of Pacifica CA, Beckie Gebhart of Grand Junction CO, Laurel Gebhart of Kempner TX, son Doyle (Sandra) Stoner of Juneau AK, 17 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Springer, New Mexico on 18 January 2019, beginning at 10am with a potluck to follow.
