WILLIAM JOE “JAY” JONES October 30, 1929 – December 16, 2019
Jay W. Jones, age 90, of Parker, Colorado passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019, notably on the 52nd anniversary of his marriage to Myra L. Jones.
Jay was born, October 30, 1929 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. At the age of 8 he moved to New Mexico with his parents and eight siblings. Parents and all siblings predeceased Jay.
Jay was married to Joan Elizabeth Rupert Chase of the Chase Ranch in Cimarron, NM and they had two children, Thomas W Jones (deceased March 13, 2012) and Cathy (Taffy) Pearson of Denver, Colorado. Jay and Joanie owned and operated J&J Mercantile for many years in Cimarron, NM.
Jay remarried Myra L Boring (predeceased September 2, 2016) of Lindrith, NM in 1967 and became a loving father to Kimberlee. They moved to Tucson, Arizona where he commuted and worked on the Alaskan pipeline as a heavy equipment operator.
Jay is survived by his daughter, Cathy (Taffy) Pearson of Centennial, CO; Grandchildren: Stanley (Rose) Mashek of Aurora, CO; Tanya (Rick) Goetz of Windsor, CO; Luke (Mandi) Mashek of Aurora, CO; Phillip Mashek of Aurora, CO; Stephen Mashek of Aurora, CO; Jaylen Jones of Oregon and Rebecca Jones of Las Vegas, NM. Jay will be missed by numerous great-grandchildren and other loving family and friends.
At Jay’s request there will be no services.
