In Loving Memory of Anthony Joseph Veltri

Anthony Joseph Veltri,71, passed away on November 19th, at Denver’s Lutheran Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.  He was welcomed into this world on March 4th, 1948, to proud parents, Joseph and Rose Marie (Serafino) Veltri in Trinidad, Colorado. His parents predeceased him.
Anthony was a proud graduate of Trinidad Catholic High, Trinidad State Junior College, and the University of Northern Colorado.  He was an outstanding high school athlete in both football and basketball.
Following college, he began his career in the Customs Division at Stapleton International Airport for a short time.  He had an overwhelming passion for his Italian heritage, which resulted in him becoming part of the sales team for his great uncle’s Denver company, Western Foods Imports. Throughout the years, he established lifelong friendships with owners of Denver’s fine Italian restaurants, deli and markets.
In retirement, he enjoyed wonderful vacations with his daughters and families to Mexico, Italy, and touring scenic Colorado.
He is survived by his three wonderful daughters.  Angela (Rene’) Mattei, Sheila(Chris) Foster, and Tina (Jay) Dinkel.  Papa adored his three beautiful grandchildren Makayla and Russell Foster, and Jennae Mattei. His former wife and best mother to his children, Louise Wehus Veltri.  Siblings are Gloria (Paul) Starkovich, and Ralph (Nancy Evans)Veltri.Special cousin and childhood best friend, Ron Monteleone.  Numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and a host of dear friends also survive him.
A celebration of Anthony’s life will be WednesdayDecember 11th, at 10:00 am, in Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Trinidad, Colorado.  Inurnment will follow at Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
Persons wishing to do so can make memorial contributions to Holy Trinity Restoration Fund or Holy Trinity Academy.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Comi Funeral Home.
