Charles R. “Bob” Smith passed away November 28th, 2019 in his home at Colfax General Long-Term Care. Bob was born in St. Louis Missouri, June 18, 1944. He was raised on the Red River Ranch near Springer, NM. Bob attended Springer Schools and graduated from Springer High School with high honors, then moved on to further his education at Colorado State University where he received a bachelor’s degree of Science and Agriculture.
Bob was a sweet, loving, kindhearted man and was willing to help anyone, rather it be with some good old advice or lend a helping hand. Bob resided most of his years in Raton, NM. He retired from Mack’s Drilling where he enjoyed working for many years.
Bob is survived by his sister Alice and husband Rick Fortenbury of Albuquerque, NM, his daughter Kimberly Kaplan of Raton, Stepsons Jack Dodgen of Ohio, Dean Wyman of Texas. Four granddaughters; Bianca Dodgen, Shelby Kaplan, Jessica Kaplan, Nicole Kaplan and four grandsons,
Bob is preceded in death by his mother Alice Confield and Stepfather Bill Confield, foster father Dick Wooten.
Bob wished to have no services.
