Ruth R. Hyer also known as Ruth Hogg, passed away on November 14, 2019 at her home in Springer New Mexico. Ruth was born on October 19, 1930 in Capulin, New Mexico to Philphymo and Elestica LaDoux. She grew up in Capulin, New Mexico where she attended school. Ruth was an entrepreneur owning several businesses, was a local real estate investor, and worked for people in the community during her younger days. Ruth spent most of her years in Colfax County.
Ruth strongly believed in God, her family, and her community. She knew no stranger, always had a listening ear, and a helping hand. If she couldn’t help you personally she would find someone who could.
Ruth Hyer is survived by her partner of 30+ years Leo Archuleta, her three daughters and their spouses, Vivian Myers, Jonallyn and Patrick Padilla, Robin and Willie Winters, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Philphymo and Elestica LaDoux, her brother Edward Tafoya, Her two sons Thomas Hyer and Stephen Hogg, and her daughter Anna Hyer.
A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2020 because of her love for the warm New Mexico summers.
I will always remember her as a very nice and gracious lady. I spent time with her and Buddy Hogg many years ago and will never forget them.
