Fatal Rollover Crash on I-25 in Mora County
Mora County, NM – New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal rollover crash on northbound Interstate 25 at about mile post 374 near Wagon Mound on October 29, 2019 around 8:30 p.m.
The initial investigation indicated a 2004 Chevrolet SUV driven by Brent James Horner (22) of Raton, NM, was traveling on I-25. For unknown reasons the vehicle left the roadway and crashed. Horner was ejected and sustained fatal injuries. Horner was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.
Icy roads are believed to be a contributing factor in the crash. The crash is not believed to be alcohol related and seatbelts do not appear to have been properly worn. This crash remains under investigation by the New Mexico State Police.
