In Loving Memory of Agnes Pogue Baker

Agnes Pogue Baker, age 87, died Tuesday, October 1, 2019 in Clayton, New Mexico.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Clayton Memorial Cemetery with John Conner, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Agnes Pogue Baker was born on December 19, 1931 in Moses, New Mexico to Alejandro Craine and Liberta (Vallejos) Craine. Our mom was a member of the Clayton High School class of 1954. She married Leonard Borden Pogue on September 13, 1952 in Clayton, New Mexico. She was a hard working bartender, barmaid and caretaker. She loved to cook, bake and can. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and daughter. In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by the great love of her life, Leonard Pogue on October 10, 1986, by a daughter, Ruby Sanchez on December 22, 2015, 2 brothers, Salomon Craine on May 13, 1963 and Joe Craine on May 23, 2019, 2 sisters, Carmen Marquez on April 6, 2001 and Beatrice Collins on July 10, 2010, by a granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Herrera, a grandson, Chad Martinez, a great-granddaughter, Layla Morgan, a daughter-in-law, Donna Pogue and 2 sons-in-law, Michael Williams and John Vigil.

SURVIVORS:

5 DAUGHTERS: Gail Herrera and her husband Tony and Brenda Vigil all of Clayton, New Mexico and Dorris Williams, Evelyn Connor and her husband John and Donna Cruz and her husband Frank all of Amarillo, Texas.

2 SONS: Wayne Pogue of Pleasanton, Texas and Bryan Pogue of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 STEP-SON: Lewie Baker and his wife Patty of Clayton, New Mexico.

27 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
