Bertha L. Sandoval, age 88, passed away on September 25, 2019 to join her beloved husband Raymond and her loving son John Thomas.
Bertha was born in Segundo, Colorado on June 11, 1931 and attended area schools, graduating from Trinidad High School in 1949. She will best be remembered as the District Court Reporter, having served in that capacity for 38 years.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband Raymond on February 21, 2000 and her son John Thomas on July 2, 1996. She is also predeceased by her parents Fred and Emma (Abeyta) Lamorie.
Following her retirement on March 1, 2001, Bertha devoted her time to community activities and had many interests, some of which included volunteering at the Colorado Welcome Center, serving as a eucharistic minister, a member of the Nuestra Senora De Guadalupe Society, a member of the bi-lingual choir, President of the Senior Citizens Center, and a member of Holy Trinity Church.
Left to cherish her memory are family Joanne Montero of Trinidad, Jerrod Montoya of Denver, and Jeff Montoya & fiance Samantha Steidl of Denver.
Donations in Bertha’s honor may be made to the Sayre Senior Center or the Sangre De Cristo Hospice
At her request, there will be no public viewing. Graveside services and internment at Trinidad Catholic Cemetery will be held on September 30, 2019 at the hour of 11 o’clock AM under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.
