In Loving Memory of Charles “Chuck” Wayne Hammer

Charles “Chuck” Wayne Hammer passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019 in Las Vegas, New Mexico after an extended illness. Chuck was the firstborn son to Richard “Dickie” and Carolyn “Carol” Hammer in Raton, New Mexico on September 10, 1953.

Chuck graduated from Mosquero High School, and a year later joined the United States Army. He was stationed in Fort Bliss, Texas and received two accommodations: National Defense Service Medal and Sharp Shooter in Rifle. After leaving the Army, he returned to Mosquero and helped on the family farm and ranch.

Chuck is survived by his father, Dickie Hammer, of the family home, brothers: Paul (Debbie) of Muleshoe, TX, Bill (Daniela) of Roy, NM, Tommy (Rosa) of Flora Vista, NM, and James (Amanda) of Tucumcari, NM, sister, Cathy Paiz (Lino) of Roy, NM, and numerous nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Hammer, grandparents Charles Richard Hammer and Agnes Hammer Trampe, and Wayne and Hattie Wilson, and a nephew, James Hammer.

Services for Chuck will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mosquero on Friday, September 27th with the Rosary at 10am and Funeral Mass at 11am with burial at the Mosquero Cemetery to follow. A meal will be served at the parish hall afterwards. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or a charity of your choice.
