The jungle saw the lights on Thursday evening as the senior and junior girls battled it out for bragging rights during the annual homecoming powderpuff ball game where the junior girls took the game with a 12-6 win.
The senior girls scored first as Sydnie Romero sped into the end zone on the seniors first series of plays. It didn’t take long, however, for the juniors to threaten but failed to score on their first series of downs. Neither team was able to do much during the remainder of the first half.
It was the junior girls who scored in the second half as junior Anna Acosta found clear running and raced over 70 yards to pay dirt. Junior Aliana Garcia caught the pass and she headed up the field leaving and pursuit in the dust as she crossed the goal line to give the junior girls the win late in the game.
The senior boys simply out did the junior boys in the halftime cheer competition Thursday evening and won the bragging rights for another year.
