Conditions encountered after the report is compiled may differ, as stream, lake and weather conditions alter fish and angler activities.
Berrendo Creek: Valerie Wyatt of Roswell caught a 4-pound largemouth bass using a yellow and black spinner bait Aug. 29.
Bluewater Lake: Jim Baldonado of Las Vegas, Nev. caught and released a 40-inch 15-pound, 5-ounce tiger muskie using a swimbait Aug. 28.
Caballo Lake: Patricia DiBartolomeo of Socorro caught a 3-pound largemouth bass using a crankbait Aug. 30
Conchas Lake: Curtis Farris, age 8, of Albuquerque caught a 20-inch catfish using a crappie plastic lure Aug. 31.
Fenton Lake: Twins Lauren and Jackie Valdez of Albuquerque caught their limits of rainbow trout with three measuring 18.5-inches, 19.5-inches and the biggest at 20.75-inches using a mixture of cheese and corn PowerBait Aug. 31. Journey White, age 13, of Pojoaque caught an18-inch, 3.5-pound rainbow trout using rainbow PowerEggs fished on the bottom with a Carolina rig Aug. 31. Claire Swinhoe of Los Alamos caught a 16-inch trout using garlic PowerBait Aug. 29.
Laguna del Campo: Arturo Villanueva of Chama caught a 21-inch rainbow trout using a gold spinner Aug. 31.
Lake Maloya: Kateri Dierking, age 6, of Albuquerque caught an 18.5-inch rainbow trout using PowerBait Sept. 1.
Monastery Lake: Andrew Ulibarri, age 5, of Rio Rancho caught a 17-inch rainbow trout using salmon peach PowerBait Sept. 1.
Navajo Lake: Avyn Trujillo, age 5, of Albuquerque caught her limit of kokanee salmon on red arnies tipped with corn fishing 50 to 60 feet deep Sept. 2.
Pecos River: Tate Chandler, age 5, of Cloudcroft caught a 24-inch, 5-pound catfish using chicken liver at the lower Tansil damn near Carlsbad Aug. 29.
Seven Springs Brood Pond: Owen Middagh, age 7, of Albuquerque caught a 19-inch, 4-pound rainbow trout using white glitter Gulp bait Sept. 1.
Tingley Beach: Dominic Candelaria, age 12, of Cochiti Pueblo caught a 26-inch 6.7-pound catfish using chicken liver/ chicken blood Magic Bait Aug. 31. Donovan Candelaria, age 12, of Cochiti Pueblo caught a 22-inch, 3.2-pound catfish using chicken liver/chicken blood Magic Bait Aug. 31.

Santa Rosa Lake: Rita Richardson of Roswell caught a 16-inch largemouth bass trolling an olive creature bait Aug. 24.

Cabresto Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Charette Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Cimarron River: Stream flow near Cimarron Monday morning was 43.4 cfs. Fishing for trout was fair to good using woolly buggers, salmon eggs, PowerBait, yellow stimulator flies, blue wing olive nymphs and caddis dry flies.
Clayton Lake: Fishing for trout was slow to fair using PowerBait and nightcrawlers. Fishing for catfish was fair to good using chicken liver. We had no reports on other species. The boat ramp is closed due to low water levels.
Conchas Lake: Fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass was good using drop shot rigs, crankbaits, Pop-Rs, Whopper Ploppers, Senkos and creature baits. Fishing was fair to good for white bass and walleye using live minnows Fishing for catfish was good using worms and cut bait.
Costilla Creek: Stream flow near Costilla Monday was 68.9 cfs. Fishing for trout was good using small dry flies such as yellow sallies, hoppers and spruce moth flies.
Cowles Ponds: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Coyote Creek: Fishing for trout was good using salmon eggs. Anselmo Contreras of Rio Rancho caught and released 10 rainbow trout.
Eagle Nest Lake: Fishing for trout was good using salmon peach PowerBait, and Chernobyl ants. Fermine Delgado of Albuquerque caught his limit of rainbow trout in less than an hour using PowerBait. Fishing for perch was fair to good using worms. Fishing for pike was fair using spoons. We had no reports this week on other species.
Eagle Rock Lake: Fishing for trout was good using PowerBait, salmon eggs and worms.
Fawn Lakes: The last report was that high runoff water has created poor fishing conditions.
Gallinas River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Hopewell Lake: Fishing for trout was fair to good using streamers, PowerBait, worms, woolly buggers and Pistol Petes.
Lake Alice: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Maloya: Fishing for trout was good using PowerBait.
Los Pinos River: Fishing for trout was fair to good using red zebra midge droppers on a hopper fly.
Maxwell Lake 13: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Monastery Lake: Fishing for trout was fair to good using salmon peach PowerBait and woolly buggers.
Morphy Lake: Closed for a renovation project on the dam and no firm opening date has been set.
Pecos River: Stream flow near the town of Pecos Monday morning was 47.8 cfs. Fishing for trout was good using salmon eggs, PowerBait, wooly buggers, leach pattern flies and Panther Martin spinners.
Red River: Stream flow below the hatchery Monday morning was 46.3 cfs. Fishing for trout was good using salmon eggs, nymph flies and Panther Martin spinners.
Rio Grande: Stream flow at the Taos Junction Bridge was 594 cfs. Fishing near Albuquerque for catfish was good using cut bait. Anglers are advised to bring bug spray.
Rio Hondo: Stream flow Monday morning near Valdez was 21.6 cfs. Fishing for trout was fair to good using small hopper flies.
Rio Mora: Stream flow Monday morning was 15.4 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Pueblo: Stream flow Monday morning near Penasco was 14.0 cfs. Fishing for trout was fair using Parachute Adams, mosquito flies and blue wing olives.
Santa Cruz Reservoir: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Shuree Ponds: We hand no reports from anglers this week. Fishing is open on the Valle Vidal, including Shuree Ponds, July 1-Dec. 31.
Springer Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Storrie Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Stubblefield Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Ute Lake: Fishing for bass was good using top water lures early in the morning. Fishing for smallmouth bass was good using drop shot rigs and Neko rigs in 12 to 20 feet of water. Fishing for largemouth bass was good using chatter baits and flukes worked in heavy cover. Fishing for walleye was slow. Fishing for white bass was good using jigging spoons and blade baits in 35 to 45 feet of water. Fishing for catfish was good shallow using chicken liver, nightcrawlers and shrimp. We had no reports on other species. The main lake was clear and the water temperature was in the lower 80s.
Northwest Fishing Report
Abiquiu Lake: Fishing pressure has been light probably due to a blue green algae bloom. The lake remains open for fishing. Angler activity was light but limited reports indicated fishing for walleye was fair using curly tail grubs with jig heads. Due to low water levels anglers are advised to use four-wheel drive vehicles to launch boats and watch for obstructions on the water.
Animas River: Water flow below Aztec Monday morning was 155 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Albuquerque Area Drains: Fishing for bass was fair to good using mop flies and small crankbaits. Fishing for bluegill was good using small dry flies.
Bluewater Lake: Fishing for tiger muskie was good using swimbaits, jointed crankbaits and top water lures. Fishing for catfish was fair using waterdogs and hotdogs. Fishing for trout was very slow.
Brazos River: Fishing for trout was fair to good using Panther Martin spinners, worms and salmon eggs.
Canjilon Lakes: Fishing for trout was good using elk hair caddis dry flies, worms and PowerBait.
Chama River: Monday morning flows below El Vado and Abiquiu were 612 cfs and 453 cfs respectively. Fishing for trout below El Vado Lake was good using salmon eggs, worms, Panther Martin spinners, nightcrawlers, nymph flies, egg pattern flies, and PowerBait worms. Fishing below Abiquiu Lake for trout was good using size 18 and 22 yellow colored flies.
Cochiti Lake: Fishing for catfish was good using cut bait. We had no reports on other species.
El Vado Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Fenton Lake: Fishing for trout was good using garlic/cheese/corn flavored PowerBait and rainbow PowerEggs.
Heron Lake: Fishing for trout was slow using PowerBait and salmon eggs.
Jemez Waters: Stream flow on the Jemez near the town of Jemez Monday morning was 8.3 cfs. Fishing for trout in the Valles Caldera was good using dry flies such as hoppers. Fishing for trout on the East Fork was good using gold spinners.
Laguna del Campo: Fishing for trout was fair to good using gold spinners and green PowerBait.
Lagunitas Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Farmington: Fishing from shore for smallmouth bass was fair to good using small jerk baits and top water jitterbugs.
Manzano Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
McGaffey Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Navajo Lake: Fishing for pike was fair to good using swimbaits. The best pike fishing reports came from anglers fishing the Pine arm of the lake and the north end of the San Juan arm. Fishing for bass was slow. Fishing for kokanee salmon was good using purple and orange spinners tipped with corn fished 45 to 75 feet deep. Anglers reported having success fishing for kokanee using Double Whammies, Kokanee Killers and other assorted spinners. We had no reports on other species.
San Gregorio Lake: Fishing for trout was fair to good using flies.
San Juan River: Stream flow Monday morning was 1,740 cfs. Fishing for trout in the quality water was good using small midge larva and pupa fly patterns. Further downstream trout fishing was good using baetis patterns such as pheasant tails, root beers, foam wing emergers and CDC RS2s. Top water fly fishing for trout was slow but some anglers reported having success using midge clusters and hoppers.
Seven Springs Brood Pond: Fishing for trout was good using PowerBait, salmon eggs and small flies.
Tingley Beach: Fishing for catfish was fair to good using chicken liver/chicken blood Magic Bait and worms.
Trout Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Southwest Fishing Report
Alumni Pond: Fishing for catfish was good using Velveeta Cheese, hotdogs beef liver and worms.
Bear Canyon Lake: Fishing for catfish was good at night using worms and homemade dough baits. Fishing for bluegill was fair using worms and bright colored flies.
Bill Evans Lake: Fishing for bass was slow.
Caballo Lake: Fishing for white bass was fair to good using chartreuse crank baits. Fishing for bass was slow.
Elephant Butte Lake: Fishing for white bass was very good jigging Kastmasters and trolling white crankbaits near Kettle Top. Fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass was slow. Fishing for catfish was good using cut carp, worms, minnows, homemade dough bait, hotdogs and chicken liver.
Escondida Lake: Fishing for catfish was fair to good using cut bait.
Gila River: Stream flow Monday morning was 33.4 cfs. Fishing for trout was fair to good on the Middle Fork.
Glenwood Pond: Fishing for trout was good using flies and rainbow colored PowerBait.
Lake Roberts: Fishing for all species was slow.
Percha Dam: Fishing for all species was slow.
Quemado Lake: Fishing for trout was fair using PowerBait and worms.
Rancho Grande Ponds: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Grande: Stream flow below Elephant Butte Monday morning was 1,380 cfs. Fishing below Elephant Butte for catfish was fair using worms, cut bait and homemade dough baits for catfish.
Snow Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Young Pond: Fishing for catfish was good using Velveeta Cheese, hotdogs, beef liver and worms.

Pecos River: Stream flow below Sumner Lake Monday morning was 116.0 cfs. Fishing for largemouth bass below the town of Carlsbad was good using translucent plastic worms with pepper flake, yellow Rooster Tail spinners, buzz baits and live worms. Fishing for catfish was good using live worms.
Perch Lake: Fishing was fair for catfish using worms and hot dogs.
Ruidoso River: Stream flow Monday morning at Hollywood was 6.10 cfs. Fishing for trout was good using flies and salmon eggs.
Santa Rosa Lake: Fishing for bass was fair using nightcrawlers, crank baits, creature baits and curly tail grubs in 10 to 20 feet of water. Fishing at night for catfish was good using minnows, night crawlers and hotdogs. We had no reports on other species.
