In Loving Memory of Viola Sisneros

Viola Sisneros age 86, died in her home surrounded by her loving family on August 7, 2019. She was born on December 30, 1932. She is preceded in death by her husband, George, and her parents Moises and Estella Vialpando and sister Alice.
She is survived by her 3 daughters Olga (Rick) Neurauter of Raton, Jeanie Ducommun of Raton and Georgia (Andy) Henderson of Flower Mound, TX; 7 grandchildren Josh Ducommun (Ada), Christine “CC” Neurauter(Kevin), Michael Neurauter, Hayden Ducommun, Megan Neurauter, Colter Henderson and McKenzie Henderson; 4 great-grandchildren Aubriana, Gianno, Scarlett and Gabriela.
Viola is also survived by her 4 brothers, Moises Vialpando Jr. of Commerce City, CO, Frank Vialpando (Anna) of Walsenburg, CO, Alfred Vialpando (Christine) of Aurora, CO, and Wilfred Gallegos (Pat) of Cheyenne, WY and two sisters Elva Martinez in Thornton, CO and Anna Sena (Sid) of Phoenix, AZ. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that were very special to her.
Viola was affectionately known as Grandma Vi to many students, teachers and friends. She was a homemaker and personal housekeeper for 40 years. She worked as a Foster Grandmother at Raton Catholic School, Kearny, Longfellow and Columbian Elementary Schools, and Raton Middle School for 21 years.
Grandma Vi always greeted you with an infectious smile and her famous statement “You look China-A-Ling!” Grandma Vi will be remembered as a woman of strength, wisdom, courage and compassion.
Visitation will be Monday August 12, 2019 from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will follow at 7:00 P.M. at St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raton.
Mass of the Resurrection will be Tuesday August 13, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raton with Father John Brasher as the celebrant. Rite of Christian burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton.
Arrangements and celebration of love for Viola Sisneros are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
