Very light winds and cloudy skies allowed balloon pilots to wander around over south Raton some staying close to the airfield while others wandered off to the north over town.

Linda Bennett, who won the drawing at the annual Hops and Vines event earlier this year took her very first balloon ride with pilot Gerry Graff aboard his balloon Lofty. Graff’s balloon like several others drifted north and landed in south Raton just north of the old race track providing Bennett with a delightful ride Saturday morning.

Two balloons stayed on the field giving tethered rides to all that ventured their way.
