Pilot Tom Gardner started the 2019 International Santa Fe Trail Balloon Rally off Wednesday morning with flight for INBank employees and unveiled the new INBank Banner on the side of his balloon Ajuua Dreamer.
From the All Seasons parking lot the Ajuua Dreamer chase crew helped inflate the ballon and ready it for a slow flight across south Raton. Winds were light and favorable for Gardner to get in two hops. Bank employees Lieann Bernal and Lois Romero were the lucky one who went up with Gardner on the first hop where he landed on State Street just south of KRTN. From there he went up and over to the softball field which just happened to be the last landing site before having to find a spot on the old Raton Pass.
