New Mexico Volunteers for the Outdoors P.O. Box 36246 Albuquerque, NM 87176

On behalf of New Mexico Volunteers for the Outdoors (NMVFO), I want to express our appreciation to the Citizens of Raton, Friends of Sugarite, and New Mexico State Parks personnel who came together on June 15, 2019 to improve trail leading from the historic Coal Camp ruins to mines #@ and #3. Their participation allowed us to augment our project staff and made the project a success. I’m sure we are missing some names of those who participated, this is a partial list, so thank you to all:

  • Al Frydryk
  • John Johnson
  • Joel Maddox
  • John McElhinney
  • David McMeechan
  • Nancy Poe
  • Tom Schurch
  • David Wilson
  • Robert McIvor, Sugarite Canyon State Park

Established in 1982, NMFVO is an all-volunteer, action oriented, non-political 501(c) (3) organization that promotes public involvement and education of the public in the maintenance, improvement, and stewardship of New Mexico’s trail. In 2018, NMFVO completed 19 projects in New Mexico engaging 140+ volunteers. Over 2,300 direct volunteer hours were donated by New Mexico citizens to improve 20+ miles of trails. Our 2019 project season is well underway, and we look forward to returning to the Raton area in 2020.

Sincerely,

Ed DiBello, 2019 Chairperson
