Colfax County, NM – On Sunday, June 16, 2019 at about 3:06 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal crash on Interstate 25 southbound, near mile post 430, north of Maxwell, NM.
The initial investigation indicated a 2016 Kia SUV was travelling south on Interstate 25. For unknown reasons the Kia left the roadway and crashed. The driver, Neal Ciocchetti (81) and passenger, Christine Ciocchetti (70) both of Scottsdale, AZ sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Neal Ciocchetti and Christine Ciocchett were pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of Medical Investigator.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor and seatbelts appear to have been properly utilized. No additional information is available at this time.
