In Loving Memory of Cheryl Simons

Cheryl Simons born Cherylann Lupe Garcia on December 8, 1955 died June 14, 2019 due to brain cancer. Cheryl had a brain tumor that was partially removed in 2008. God allowed here to live a healthy life for 11 years which enabled her to take care of her mother until her mother died and also take care of her 2 grandsons whom she loved dearly.

Cheryl attended Holy Trinity for grade school and graduated from Trinidad High School in 1973. She took piano lessons growing up and enjoyed playing the piano throughout her life. Cheryl worked in the dental field for 13 years and loved oral hygiene and teeth: Dr. Warren Hamula orthodontist Colo. Springs, Dr. Mark Mills orthodontist Colo. Springs and Dr. Paul Andreatta Trinidad. She also worked for Evergreen Natural Resources, Dr. James Jex, Dr. Salazar, Dr. McFarland, Dr. Hagan and the Rocky Mountain Eye Center. She often joked that she was trying to work at every office in Trinidad. Cheryl was a loving, kind, caring and giving person with a great sense of humor. She loved children and was an amazing mother to her three children and treated her children’s friends as her own.

She is preceded in death by parents, Joe L. Garcia, Mary A. Garcia and bother Lonny Garcia.

She is survived by husband John Simons, son Mark Simons (Misty Martinez, Alizae, Elyssa) daughters Misti Simons and Kirsten Simons (Joey Tortorice); Grandsons Zacchius Aragon, Rylan Tortorice and Jaxten Simons; Brother Phil Garcia, and sister Gerri Snyder; Brother-in-law Dave Simons, sister and bother-in-law Sue and Andy Archuletta and mother-in-law and friend Marge Simons; Nieces: Jean Archuletta, Mariah Synder, Sheilah Snyder; Nephews: Jeff Garcia, David, Stephen and Zachary Snyder; Her Philadelphia Church of God family and best friend Kathy (Leone) Blair; and many friends and family.

Memorial services will be officiated by Mr. Robert Locher from the Philadelphia Church of God on Friday June 21, 2019 at the Comi Chapel at 10am .

Inurnment will follow at a later date.
