Mary P. Alarid age 93 of Raton passed away Saturday June 1, 2019 in Raton. She was born November 25, 1925 in Maxwell, NM, the daughter of Jose Angel and Margarita Lopez-Martinez. Mary was a homemaker, a member of St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She loved doing crafts and loved Spanish programs and music.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jose Alarid Sr., son Jose Alarid Jr., Daughters Mary Lee Roybal, Laurie Chiaramonte and Julia Garcia. Granddaughters, Zaylee Campbell and Francesca Roybal, grandson Steven Chiaramonte. Brothers Louie Martinez, Lawrence Martinez and Tony Martinez, sisters Adelina Segura, Amelia Martinez and Nena Guerrero.
She is survived by four daughters, Margaret Thompson of Pueblo, CO, Sally Blea of Raton, NM, Lena Alba and husband Honorio of Raton, NM, and Samantha Mendez and husband George of Raton, NM. One son Larry Martinez of Raton, NM. One brother Orlando and wife Carmen Martinez of Raton, NM. Two sisters Mary Lou Sedillo and Gertrude Valverde of Raton, NM. Seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
By Mary’s request cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled.
