In Loving Memory of Juanita E. Tafoya

Juanita E. Tafoya passed away on Saturday, May 18th, 2019 in Wheat Ridge Colorado. Juanita was born on June 24, 1948 in Ocate, New Mexico the daughter of Jose L. and Cordelia Bernal. She was a member of the St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years, Lee J. Tafoya. Also, preceding her in death are her parents, Jose L. and Cordelia Bernal, Maternal grandparents; Marcelino and Cleo Fernandez, Alfonso and Louise Trujillo. Paternal grandparents Pedro and Elena Trujillo. She is also preceded in death by her infant brother, Juanito Bernal, infant sister Lucille Bernal. Brothers; Ted Bernal, Paul Bernal as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Juanita is survived by her daughters, Cordelia and husband Randy Garcia of Raton, Roberta Tafoya and wife Jessica of Pueblo, CO., Paula Tafoya and companion Simon Pino of Pueblo, CO., Juanita and husband Bryan Schuster of Raton, NM, Maria Tafoya and companion CJ Stevens of Melrose, NM. and granddaughter/daughter Annya Tafoya and Fiancé Julio Sanchez. Juanita is also survived by eight grandchildren; Robert, Ryan, Noah, Lianna, Bryan Jr, Camden, Aliya and Blossom as well as four great-grandchildren; Calogano, Athena, Aviana and Ryan Jr. She is also survived by three sisters; Rebecca Salazar of Fort Lupton, CO, Marcella and husband Ted Guara of Raton, Helen and husband Joe Garcia of Raton, along with numerous friends.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will be on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. recited by the Carmelita’s, followed by The Solemn Mass of The Resurrection at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with Father Bill Woytavich as the Celebrant. Rite of Committal and Internment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Arrangements for Juanita E. Tafoya are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
