Leah Renee Johnson, age 49, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in Clayton, New Mexico.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Central Time on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Boise City, Oklahoma with Pastor Charles Mendenhall, pastor of Victory Center in Guymon, Oklahoma, officiating. Following her funeral services, a procession will leave at 12:00 Central Time for the Garrett Cemetery North of Boise City for burial. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Leah Renee Johnson was born on July 15, 1969 in Boise City, Oklahoma to Robert Sterling Gayler and Roberta Carol (Fowler) Gayler. She graduated from Boise City High School as Valedictorian in 1987 and attended West Texas State University in Canyon where she graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Leah married Chris Johnson on August 31, 1991 in Boise City, Oklahoma. She worked at the Cimarron Memorial Hospital in Boise City for many years. Leah loved her family and she loved being a wife and mother and making a good home for her family. She enjoyed hiking and being outside and loved to travel with her family. Leah was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Millard and Esther Fowler and her paternal grandparents; Robert and Vivian Gayler.

HER HUSBAND: Chris Johnson of Clayton, New Mexico.

4 DAUGHTERS: Keziah Rattray and her husband Brandon of Clayton, New Mexico, Rebekah Fernandez and her husband Samuel of Twentynine Palms, California and Hannah Johnson and Amarissah Johnson both of Clayton, New Mexico.

HER PARENTS: Robert and Carol Gayler of Boise City, Oklahoma.

1 SISTER: Cheryl Taylor and her husband Larry of Boise City, Oklahoma and their children; Bryce Bolton and Laramee Taylor.

1 BROTHER: Chad Gayler of Boise City, Oklahoma.

FATHER-IN-LAW and MOTHER-IN-LAW: Ray and Anna Mae Johnson of Canyon, Texas.

MEMORIALS: The family asks that memorials be made in Leah’s memory to the Cimarron Memorial Hospital in Boise City, Oklahoma.
