It was one of those afternoons that looked good for Raton until the sixth inning when the Lady Rattlers rallied and sealed the game with a 12-5 final score.
The Lady Rattlers started out the game on the hitting side scoring three runs early. Raton however battled back and tied the game in the bottom of the third at three all. Both teams played a strong defensive game until the fifth inning when Raton sent one run around the bases to make it a 4-3 game.
The sixth inning started off with pitcher Crystal Ortiz hitting a slump and walking two batters with nine pitches. A triple into right field all the way to the fence sent two runners home. Tucumcari scored another one making it a 6-4 game. Raton goes three up and three down to end the sixth at 6-4.
Tucumcari puts runners on base with a double and moves them to second and third. A walk loads the bases and the rally begins when the dust clears Tucumcari leads by 12-4. Raton manages a run in the bottom of the seventh to leave the game at 12-5.
