West Las Vegas Baseball Takes Double Header Monday in Raton

Raton baseball hosted the West Las Vegas Dons Monday afternoon for a make-up double header at Gabrielle Field after the Saturday afternoon games were postponed for snow, yep its springtime in the rockies.

In game one Raton pitcher Isaiah Samora went five innings with three strikeouts and two walks before Richie Acevedo took over on the mound. Chance Middlebrook finished off the game for Raton. Roy Pacheco Jr. was the winning pitcher facing 26 batters getting 10 Ks with only two walks  before James Archuleta finished the game with five Ks.

Game two saw Raton do a little better at plate getting seven hits for eight runs. But West did even better rounding the bases on 11 hits for 10 runs. Jayden Romero started on the mound for Raton and went 3.6 innings with three Ks and five walks before Dante Romero came in to finish the game with four KS and no walks. Omar Gallardo went three innings for Vegas with five Ks and two walks. James Archuleta came in to finish for Vegas with 11 Ks and five walks. Archuleta faced 19 batters.

Raton continues to struggle at home plate this year but with a young team they are looking forward to next year.
